Micro Goals = Micro wins
So I set a goal that I want to have £1,000,000 by the time I am 40 years that is in 7 years. The reaction I get when I mention this is pure disbelief and shock. People just ask how is that possible?
We have been conditioned to not expect such financial results. We are conditioned to go to school get a degree and get into professional jobs and then work our way up the corporate ladder.
This path while noble does not give the assurance of wealth but mainly of sustenance.
What if I told you that to achieve £1,000,0000 in 7 years you need to earn £142,875.14 per year(disregard living expense) what if I broke this down further by saying this translates to £391.40 per day based on a 365 day year.
Suddenly the figure £1,000,000 does not look that scary anymore. My focus then is not £1,000,000 but on £391.40. I still haven't figured it out yet but it is certainly not as daunting.
MICRO GOALS = MICRO WINS
We need to have a bigger picture of what our goals are but, in doing so we also have to set smaller goals which act as a road map towards us achieving our main goals. When we are able to set these micro goals it makes the task of achieving our main goal look more possible.
When we set micro goals we are also creating room for micro wins. Anytime we achieve our micro goals it is time to celebrate that win as this will empower us to strive towards the next micro goal.
My questions for you are; What goals have you set for the future? What micro goals represent significant steps towards your main goal?
Set deadlines for your micro goals and empower yourself with all the tools necessary to achieve these goals and put them to work setting a clear time block for achieving them.
Get to work and see you at the top.
