How to Declutter Your Life and Reduce Stress Julie McCormick Julie McCormick is a freelance writer, and co-owner of The Cleveland Leader, a Technorati Top 1000 site. Excessive clutter is often a symptom and a cause of stress and can affect every facet of your life, from the time it takes you to do things to your finances and your overall enjoyment of life.  Clutter can distract you, weigh you down, and in general it invites chaos into your life.  Often times, however, tackling the clutter can seem an insurmountable task if you don’t know where or how to start.  By devoting a little of your time to getting rid of the clutter in your life and maintaining things relatively clutter-free , you’ll reap the rewards of pleasing living areas, reduced stress, and a more organized and productive existence. The best way to tackle the decluttering of your home, your work space, and your life is to take things  one small step at a time.  C...

MIND THAT FARM

Image
I often liken employment to a farm field where you till the ground, plant your seeds, tend your plant and then wait for your harvest. Imagine a scenario where a farmer just plants the seeds and then goes home to return in a few months for the harvest. I wonder what crop he would be gathering on his arrival. For a farmer to expect a rich harvest he would have to engage in the time consuming efforts of watering the plants, weeding the farm, feeding the plants with fertilizers and keeping pests at bay with pesticides. It is only upon following through on these processes that the farmer would have more confidence in expecting a very good harvest. The question then is how does this relate to employment? On almost a daily basis I am confronted with a very common situation which I am sure thrives in almost every working environment.  Workers complaining about pretty much everything. About their bosses, about the job, about coworkers etc. I am not immune to this.  ...

SACRIFICE....IS A MUST

Often times we are surrounded by people who dish out well meaning advice such as, "Take your time", "Don't stress yourself", "You have done your best its time to give up", "You shouldn't take on so much"etc. While it is good that we have people who look out for us to ensure we are keeping ourselves healthy it is important that we understand the impact these kind of advice can have on our dreams and aspirations. I am yet to hear of any success story that wasn't laden with trials, tribulations and rejections. You alone as an individual has the vision and you alone can see beyond the current challenges. You must seek out advice from people who have traveled the road that you now find yourself on. These people are able to shed some light on your part which will tide you over and give you hope. It is not sufficient to have dreams. We must be willing to give up certain things to ensure our dreams can become  real. This could b...

Are you Molly Coddling your dreams?

Image
We are on the first day of 2018. I am approaching 2018 with a lot of excitement and anticipation. I am sure we have expectations on the things we would like to achieve in this year. The question though is are we willing to set our dreams free from the apron strings and give it a chance to become real? Sometimes we get caught up in the dreams, that we actually lose sight of the processes that we need to make the dreams a reality.  As we enter 2018 it is time to stop molly coddling our dreams. It is time to stop guarding our dreams. It is time to start living our dreams. Its a New Year, a fresh start and a whole new opportunity. It is time to start implementing those plans. Start working on those tasks. Wishing you an accomplished, fulfilled and result driven 2018.
