Guard Your Ears; Guard your Dreams

Who are you listening to?

Having a dream is one of the things that makes life beautiful. You can escape from whatever is going on presently with the hope that the future holds something better. A dream creates hope, aspiration and inspiration.

The journey towards your dream is often fraught with riotous confusions and lack of clarity. In seeking out the right path we often seek guidance from other people who we think are better placed to shine a light on our paths so we can take a step further towards achieving our dream.

We have to chose carefully who we seek advice from. You wouldn't go to an optician with a dental problem or a Doctor for legal advice.

If your dream is to have a love filled and peaceful home, you should seek out people who have already attained such goals in their home life and seek advice from them not from people who have a riotous home or from single people who do not have the added benefit of having experienced similar situations.

When you have a really big dream such as establishing a multi-million pound business or becoming an acclaimed author, speaker etc. Discussing your dream with people who do not share such visions can only lead to exposing your dream to people who dampen your enthusiasm and fill you with doubts.

Often times, the possibilities that come with achieving your dream are only visible to you. You alone can go to work to make your dreams come true. People around you only see the obstacles to you achieving your dreams. Every obstacle can become a stepping stone if you are willing to calm the doubts and take hold of the opportunities that are unveiled.

We need to seek mentorship from people who have travelled the road we are embarking on. These people who have navigated some of the challenges that we would experience serve 2 vital purposes.

  1. True Guidance: Someone who has experienced the hurdles that you encounter is definitely better placed to show you specific ways to get out of those situations.
  2. Beacon of Hope: Someone who has scaled through those challenges and still made a success of their life gives you the hope that you will be able to get to your destination.
No matter how big your dream is, remember that your dream is someone's reality and one day it will be your reality. Nothing is impossible. Life is a sea of possibilities that is open to anyone to dive in and enjoy.
Be very selective when seeking advice. Protect your dream from dream killers. So when next you want to share your dream with someone ask yourself has this person walked this road? If not, seek advice from someone else. You can also gain the advice of very successful people from their books, videos and audio materials.

Guard your ears at all times.
